Pricing modifiers can be used in Low Fare Search request to further define the search by two refund type: non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

- Rail Availability also supports refund modifiers.

In Low Fare Search, these modifiers are requested by using AirPricingModifiers: there is no separate RailPricingModifier.
- In RCS, these modifiers are collectively referred to as Flexibility Criteria.
Request
In LowFareSearchReq, the Air Pricing Modifiers child is used to set refund types.
- The default value of the ProhibitNonRefundableFares attribute is 'false'. When set to 'true', the Low Fare Search response contains fares that can be exchanged AND refunded.
- The default value of the ProhibitNonExchangeableFares attribute is 'false'. When set to 'true', the Low Fare Search response contains fares that can be exchanged.
Response
The response returns a standard Low Fare Shopping response with Rail segments filtered for the requested refund status.
Errors and Warnings
If a rail distributor does not support this modifier, a warning is returned indicating that the Flexibility Criteria is not supported and that it was ignored.
